Bandari FC parts ways with Moroccan coach Mohamed Borji
The club will, in the coming days, announce new technical arrangements. In the meantime, Coach Razak Siwa will oversee the upcoming match.
Football Kenya Federation club Bandari FC has parted ways with its head coach, Mohamed Borji, ahead of their high-stakes fixture against Gor Mahia at Mbaraki Stadium on Friday.
The Moroccan tactician, who joined the club on October 6 on a one-year contract, has failed to deliver performances that meet the management’s expectations.

In a statement, the club announced: “Bandari Football Club announces that the club has parted ways with Head Coach Mohamed Borji and his assistant Tarik Bendamou, effective immediately. This decision follows a review of the team's technical direction as the club focuses on re-strategising its performance. We thank Coach Borji and Tarik for their contributions during their time at the club.”

The 44-year-old former Wydad Casablanca striker took over from Ken Odhiambo, who left the team following a difficult start to the 2025/26 season that saw Bandari hovering near the relegation zone.
Odhiambo’s assistant, John Baraza, briefly stepped in as interim coach and guided the Dockers to their first win of the campaign, a 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal. However, the club opted for a permanent appointment to stabilise the squad and provide a clearer tactical direction. That opened the door for Borji, whose experience in North African football was expected to inject discipline and technical structure into the side.
Borji arrived with his compatriot, Tarik Bendamou, who replaced Baraza as assistant coach. The Moroccan duo immediately took charge of preparations for Bandari’s upcoming assignments, including the ODM at Twenty tournament featuring Gor Mahia, Shabana and AFC Leopards.
Borji’s first official SportPesa League match in charge was set for after the FIFA international break against AFC Leopards, an opportunity expected to mark the foundation of a stronger campaign.
Borji oversaw eight matches and only managed to record a single win, with the other games producing five draws and two losses.
